What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser so it can remember something about your visit. Some cookies are essential for the site to function. Others are used to understand usage in aggregate. duo.ca uses two advertising tools, the LinkedIn Insight Tag and the Meta Pixel, to measure its ads and show them to past visitors.

The table below covers everything duo.ca sets directly or through a first-party integration. It is a short list: analytics, two advertising tags (LinkedIn and Meta), a display preference, and the cookie notice itself.
Records which pages are read, where visitors come from, and how they move through the site. Used to understand what is working and inform what to publish next. No personally identifiable information is shared with PostHog.
Expires: Up to 1 year
Tells DUO when people who saw a DUO ad on LinkedIn visit the site or book a call, and lets DUO show its LinkedIn ads to people who have visited duo.ca. LinkedIn sets its own cookies for this (for example li_sugr, bcookie, lidc, UserMatchHistory and AnalyticsSyncHistory). DUO sees aggregate reports, not who you are. To opt out, block third-party cookies in your browser or change your LinkedIn advertising settings.
Expires: Up to 1 year
Lets DUO show its Facebook and Instagram ads to people who have visited duo.ca. Meta sets its own cookies for this (for example _fbp and fr). DUO sees audience sizes and aggregate reports, not who you are. To opt out, block third-party cookies in your browser or change your Meta ad preferences.

Remembers a theme or display preference if you set one on the site, so it persists between visits.

Records that you have seen and acknowledged the cookie notice, so we do not show it again on every page load.

To limit how LinkedIn uses visits to duo.ca for advertising, use your LinkedIn advertising settings. For Facebook and Instagram, use your Meta ad preferences.
Blocking analytics cookies will not stop you from using the site. Blocking the essential consent cookie just means the notice will re-appear on future visits.
Do Not Track
There is no settled standard for responding to Do Not Track signals. duo.ca does not currently respond to them. If you want to opt out of analytics, use the browser settings above.
